The COVID-19 lockdown in spring/summer sent me back to my creative roots – crafting – and the gift of a pause amidst a global pandemic. The embroidered heart with arrows reflects the give and take of my processing, breathing, mourning, connecting. Returning to embroidery meant I was using my hands in new and different ways. Halfway through the project, the joints in both of my hands started locking. Unable to sew the design as planned, I stepped back and assessed a different way forward. I’m accepting this message as a metaphor for my life, during/post-COVID.
