We recently bought a piece of land where we have been camping. The swatches labelled “lobster mushroom,” “chaga,” and “chanterelle” were dyed using those mushrooms found on the land at Soley Cove. The pinkish fabric was dyed with raspberries and blackberries from the same place. Sadly, I left some the fabric you sent hanging on a line at the campsite but managed to redo the dyeing with some material found at home. I enjoyed everything about this except being late. It was my first attempt to dye with fungus but will not be my last. I did not write about or address COVID, Black Lives Matter, or any other issue of the day but they are ever on my mind and I am curious to see how this brave new world shapes up.
